Hey guys, a question. I was wondering, with the suspension for the Kawasaki ZX12R, I read (in the manual I think it was) that there was a 'ideal' setup for the suspension for an adult with an average of around 10 stone (not sure who Kawasaki interviewed for getting their average, but I only know like 2 fully grown men who are an average of 10 stone! Well I was wondering is their any advice on what suspension setup for my uncle (i.e. spring setup and heights for an adult of 260lbs (kitted), height 5"9. He’s a big built bloke, hence the ZX12R, and he was looking for tips on improving the handling by altering the suspension to adjust for his weight.

I would be very great full if any of you could get back to me Thumbs Up ,

Thanks for any help,
Chris

YOU RANG ? Wink

firstly send him immediately to www.200mph.org.uk - this is very important, we need as many zx12s as possible to combat the ugly buggly brigade Laughing

secondly https://www.zx-12r.org/phpBB2/index.php is American but a good source of back up information

thirdly, from Performance Bikes for the B' model zx12r, although I can't imagine it being much different for an A - mine is set up like this for the road and it rides fine, even feels a bit less harsh at the front with a bit less pressure in the tyre than Kawasaki recommend

I am about 14 st nekkid, whatever that is kitted but it'll be about right I guess

REAR SHOCK

Preload Stock setting (10 mm thread showing)

Rebound 1 1/2 turns out from full in

Compression 2 turns out from full in

FRONT FORKS

Preload 5 lines showing

Rebound 1/2 turn out from full in

Compression 2 turns out from full in

Recommended tire pressures;
Track: front 31, rear 30
Road: front 36, rear 39
