Wayheyyyy! - Absolutely chuffed to pieces. Had 3 really sloppy days of training for mods 1 & 2. Training was really good but it was not sinking in. Somehow managed to pull mod 1 out of the bag on Friday and took the first mod 2 appointment this morning. 1 Minor for mod 1, 2 minors for mod 2 = 1 happy lad! I think the examiner was either still drunk from the weekend or something but either way I am not complaining!

I was 100% certain that just after I set off that I did not leave enough room for an incoming car at a roundabout and thought I had picked up a serious fault right at the start. Decided that I was going to just enjoy the rest of the ride and take as much experience as possible for the resit. Because I relaxed my riding improved so much and did okay! Minor 1 was for going 30 in a national speed limit (did not see the sign!) but after the examiner said it is a diffucult one to see. Bit of messed up clutch control on a turning too was minor number 2.

Beyond chuffed, sat in work like a Cheshire cat! Being sensible and waiting until April when I will have 1 year's no claims bonus before I get my ER6N as my insurance pretty much halves then. At least I can enjoy the Duke 125 without those poxy L plates for a few weeks!

Big thanks to everybody on the forum who gave me tips and advise for my mods 1/2. Really went a long way.

Laughing

Ive not stopped Very Happy all day. Best. Feeling. Ever. I really want to know if the guy I was training with passes or not now. His test is in another week or so. By far the most exciting day I've ever had.

Congrats! Is insurance really that different? A Bandit's only £30 more to insure than my 125, a GPZ a tenner more (with 1yrs NCD on all).

Well, insurance on the Duke 125 (3rd, fire and theft,) is £800 for the year. Insurance quote for me on a full licence with 1 years no claims is £400 for 3FT. (2014 ER6N) About £750 without the 1 year no claims so its a no brainier for me to hold on to the Duke for an extra month or so!

Cheers Rogerborg!

MC - I think it is because the Duke is aimed at kids/new riders so their category is just high as they expect idiots to write them off. It gets a bit of a bad rep as a chav bike but I enjoyed her and I am certianly no chav haha. If she had more power I would probably keep her but getting off a 650 and back on it feels like something is just... broken
