That's a shame. It's probably the best BBC channel Laughing

Exactly, only thing I watch regularly on BBC1,2,4 is Top Gear and Traffic Cops.

Apart from Family Guy and American Dad, which have never been on iPlayer anyway, there's nothing of much worth on BBC3. I'm big on comedy but the best BBC comedy programmes - Screenwipe and Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle for example - are on BBC2. The comedy on BBC3 tends to be lowest common denominator stuff, much like the sitcoms they put on BBC1. Stuff like Mrs. Brown's Boys is a fucking disgrace.

Generally speaking BBC3 is full of chavtastic shit and reruns of other BBC content like Top Gear and Dr. Who. Admittedly, my first though when I heard it was going was, "Oh no", but, on reflection, it's actually pretty shit.

I've not knowingly ever watched it. Which is why they are probably cancelling it.

Not good though, if you do like it, but I suppose it's not too bad if it's going to be iplayer only. TV is surely going down this route and most new TVs have Iplayer, if not it comes with Virgin/PS3/PS4/Xbox/wii

I bet you never realised that you were so influential Kawakid, so it's your fault they're shutting it down.

It was only good for watching Family Guy and Yank Dad, then the repeats started.

Agreed. Was Mighty Boosh on there as well? That was good. The rest - meh. Gavin & Stacey had its moments but they were few and far between, and outweighed (literally) by annoying bastards. Like that fatty.

If the end of BBC3 stops the likes of the aforementioned fatty from gaining popularity, I'm all for it.

Never saw the point of BBC 3 in the first place.

It's on for a really short period of time - from 7pm?

The stuff that's on BBC3 is what used to be on BBC2 before BBC2 had to start repeating episodes programs of 'The Good Life' to fill its schedule.

2 pints used to be on 2, got moved to 3 to try and create some 'new' content for a channel that shouldn't have existed in the first place.

Even when they did get some decent stuff, like Mongrels, they killed it off way to early - without 3 it would have gone to 2 anyway. They're far too interested in running East-fucking-enders (that's it's proper title), repeats of Dr Who, Top gear etc.

WTF? So what's going to happen to BBC4? I don't care so much about BB3 because it's mostly just repeats from BBC1 and BBC2, but it's a very popular channel and if they are axing BBC3 then BBC4 is surely for the chop too.

Argument will be old people watch BBC4 and do so via a tv, viewers of BBC3 are young and will watch more online so moving to that platform makes sense.

I was told that the BBC make money from selling broadcasting rights to some of their programmes to other TV channels such as Dave. BBC make more money from BBC4 than BBC3 and will therefore keep BBC4.

This is purely based on what a friend told me, it may not be true or may be an assumption made by him. Although what he said does make sense considering BBC3 has a lot of repeats and programmes such as family guy/american dad which can be watched elsewhere, online or on FX (Fox) if you've got Sky.
