Got a powerband R50 50cc 59 plate and it keeps cutting out while I'm driving it. Had the carb cleaned etc it worked fine for about a week and then the same fault came back. I'm just wondering if anyone could recommend me a website for a new carb or recommend me an exact carb and cable or advice on how to sort this problem out. Be appreciated thanks alot!

is the powerband a red one or a blue one? The blue ones are well known for causing this problem and should have been dealt with as part of the dealership recall. Take it into the dealer and insist that they fit a red one in it's place.

I think the bike's actually called a Powerband 50 lol, a quick google suggests it could be a Superbyke Powerband 50cc Scooter Laughing

Do you think the OP has figured out why all the big boys snigger at him/her whenever he/her rides passed on his 'powerband'?

Always people who have to comment and act like the big boy because they have got something bigger and better, just no need. And I'm going off what the log book says, powerband R50! And OP? Ok then

OP means original poster and if you cant take a bit of a joke try another forum.

125ccsportbikes is full of moody teenagers arguing over the best way to get 50cc scooters to "bust 90mph" while carting 3 kilos of neon lighting, two bottles of JOOP and a tartan baseball cap around on their "biking adventures" .....

Inspect shoulder, remove chip.

The name 'powerband' is inherently amusing due to the fact that many noobs are trolled into thinking that they have to fit a differently-coloured powerband to their scooter to increase the speed, hence the entertainment value.

Have you tried setting the float height on the carb?

Does the tank have a fuel tap that can be set to reserve, by any chance?

Provided that's a diagnosis, and not an instruction, I concur.

It doesn't have a reserve tap mate and tanks been flushed out

What are the general conditions after a week? I'm trying to determine if there's any pattern that would indicate a cause: is it after a longer ride than you would normally go on during the rest of the week? Does it coincide with when you fill up with petrol? Do you leave it parked up somewhere different on that day?

Any of these things can lead to a cause.
