I have an Arai Profile that probably needs replacing soon. It's 8 years old this year and while it was in storage it developed an interesting smattering of mold around the edge and the inside. I'm going to try to clean it up so that I can use it for a little while longer, but at some point I'll need a new one.

My head is supposedly quite round but I had an Rx7-RR previously - said to be rounder than the Profile - and that was less comfortable than the Profile. So while I'm biased towards an Arai (Rebel in Base Orange?) I want to try on many lids from as many different makers as possible. There don't seem to be many places with a decent selection of bike clothing in Wales and none where I live in the wild west.

Can anybody recommend a good place in Wales or the borders for bike clothing and lids in particular? Or is my best bet just to find somewhere when I next pop up to London? If so, where?

Given the price of Arai i'd just get a set of replacement inners ordered up and carry on using it for years to come.

Hadn't thought about replacing the inner. Looks like the Profile liner is similar or identical to that of the Quantum II. Still, I would like the reassurance of a new shell as well as the fluffy bits.

If you're in the North Wales / Borders area J&S are just over the Cheshire border, at Northwich. They had as big a selection as I've seen for a while.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm in the South-West but I'm prepared to make a day of it and do some distance. Northwich might well be doable Thumbs Up

M&Ps especially and also JTs in Swansea have a fair selection; Thunderroad Bridgend is OK, and the usual stuff in the dealers in Cardiff. There's a small shop in St Clears I've not been to yet, and a small one (MCC) in Swansea opposite the stadium, they're newish and I popped in once, but I don't remember how much they had.

I'd say M&P first.

Ta, glad to hear that, M&P is a useful recommendation, much closer than any of the others, St Clears excepted, though I guess that won't really be comparable in size. Much appreciated!

Hope I'm not insulting your intelligence but once you figure out your favoured size / brand eBay has often good deals, especially on last years colour!

Northwich is near Oulton Park, if you were in the area I'd suggest a hour or four watching some club racing there?
As an aside if you do venture north I'd highly recomend the A483 as far as Welshpool / Oswestry. It's a cracking road!
Ps there's a j and S in Brizzzztol by the way. Not sure how big it is though, but it must be a fair bit nearer....

Cheers, appreciate the tip. Good point about ebay. If I can find something competitive in a real shop I will get it there but if it's hundreds of pounds cheaper then ebay it shall be.
