Set off early this morning on some beautiful roads on the way to Aberystwyth to work. Was coming down a hill decelerating and came into a very slight corner. The corner was in the shade and the ground was wet from dew/frost. As I was coming through it the back wheel slid out and I drifted around it.

Could have squeezed a penicl into a diamond between my arse cheeks.... scary.

Be careful out there folks... it's not summer yet!!

Also realised how friggin cold it still was - I was cold to the bone after 2 hours and it's taken about that long to warm up.

Sun is out - wohooooooooooo!

This is what I have waiting for me on my ride home tonight:

WOW!

With a commute like that, I'd be in work 7 days a week!

Very good point about it not being quite the full 'summer' yet though. I had a huge tail slide being a bit over eager on the throttle on Saturday morning. Not quite dry roads always seem worse than soaking wet ones!

had a car swing across a couple of lanes and up to the side of me in my lane this morning. I had to swing onto the hard shoulder. was being tail gated at 60 so could not put the anchors on quickly and I gotta admit, my brain was switched off on 125cc on a motorway mode. I took an age to notice what was happening and react in any way. Not a good state of mind to be riding on the road in :-/

Lost my back end a few times trying to give it the beans before fully straightening the bike.

I came off three times yesterday alone. The last one was a big one and hurt quite a lot. Can't really move my neck today. Bounce! Thinking

Due to a road closure this is the diversion I'm having to take to get to work. Laughing
Horrible when it's windy though.

I shouldn't have read this thread - some serious commute-envy. Mine is 15 miles of dual carriageway, followed by 10 miles of traffic lights, followed by 15 miles of London.

Balls to that.

They generally shit themselves seeing a bike appear behind them when there was nothing a few seconds ago and pull over to let me past. Twisted Evil

I pinned myself between my bike and my house this evening getting off to push it forward into it's space.

managed to get my knee in place against the seat to push it back into place.

Ha! and people say there is no benefit to riding a CG, I could lift mine above my head like Buzzsaw from Running Man if I had to! Wink

I remember doing something similar this time last year. Beautifully clear day, sun was shinning and when you're in direct sunlight it was relatively warm. Figured it was a good day to go riding!

As I was travelling down the back roads I came across patches of shade that had nothing but wet patches and ice on them. A lot of them were on bends as well. When my back wheel started to slip, I lost my bottle and had to slow right down every time I came across a shadow/wet patch.

One of the worst rides I've been on. Was bloody freezing once I got above 20mph, too!

Glad to hear you kept it rubber side up Thumbs Up

This route is on my doorstep also. Leominster to Aberystwyth is a bloody awesome road. Never get board of the views and the route.

This is from Sunday:

Yeah that's the one. I like doing a lap of Honister-Newlands-Whinlatter passes. The scenic route home. Laughing

To be fair it's nearly always raining in Cumbria so I spend most of my time wishing I had a car and a licence to drive one. Mad
