Hi all, just thought I'd mention a few issues and the fix for Kawasaki's z800 bike.

I noticed that when cold the first 2-3 high speed starts caused a noise (squeal) from the clutch with what felt like a slight slipping and vibration.

Once warm the noise and vibration went.

The bikes booked in this weekend with Kawasaki fitting modified springs and cams within the clutch to fix the issue, apparently from 2015 model years are having a modified clutch fitted from factory.

So those few who have a z800 and clutch judder, Kawasaki have a fix (probably also affects 750r models as well)

Hope this helps.

Just picked it up today and wow what a difference, they said the shims were replaced along with a clutch spring, nousecand vibration gone and even when warm the clutch action feels smoother (this could be me just over thinking it) but really happy with the bike again.

I bought a Z800 a couple months ago and mine has alot of vibrations in it. High frequency vibes that you can feel through the foot pegs and makes the plastic around the display vibrate. Rather annoying and distracting. How were your vibes form the clutch issue?

Been to 2 dealers about it and they say all the Z800s (In Aus so far) are like that. Im on the verge of selling due to it.

Hi, mine were the feeling the clutch was slipping and making a horrible metallic sound when cold, and only for the first 5 or so starts from stationary.

When moving the bike is silky smooth without any sound, vibration or problems.

After the shims are changed, no noise or slipping at all and absolutely perfect.

Have you tried borrowing another dealers z800 to compare.

I haven't ridden another Z800 but the dealer says the others are the same. I rode the Z1000 and found that to be similar but not as bad.

Mine is most prominent at low revs or when you back off the throttle and kicks in again badly at 6k.

Acts as a shift lift for me when it start vibrating bad at 6k;)
