Hi,

Don't know if this is a general problem, but I've seen some bolts on my bike becoming lose and undone. Is this a common problem?

I've seen some bolts covered in blue which I assume is a undoing prevention treatment. At the moment, I just tighten bolts - I don't apply anything to them to keep them tight.

Where are the bolts? Personally haven't had an issue with this, but if you do, some threadlock should sort you out. Make sure that you tighten bolts up correctly. The blue stuff is likely threadlock.

I had loads of issues with this on the vibey ER6, stick some loctite 242 on the offending bolts.

Thanks, I've had fairing bolts come lose and my top yoke central bolt is lose (although I didn't tighten that one too well). Anyway, I'll put some loctite and I'll google for some special bolt tightner solutions.

hi,
shouldnt really need thread lok on any of the bolts/fasteners you mentioned....maybe get yourself a torque wrench?
or just tighten up a bit, after fitting the relevant washers.
nothing worse than working on a bike that someones had the "sense" to put thread-lok everywhere.
granted, there will be specific places that will need compound, according to the wsm, just dont go mad with the stuff!
cheers,
GAZ

Yup, LocTite 243 Blue (which comes in a red bottle...) and/or split ring washers.
