i have an o9 fz1.
i think its great.
its fun front wheel hardly hits the floor unless you want it to.
its naked so you know when you are going way to fast.
foot pegs hit the floor to easy if you corner in a spirited fashion.
seat isnt comfy at all after a 100miles or so you will want to walk about for a bit.
i make the excuse that i need fuel
like i say i love mine but touring on it would be a chore. |

Got the faired version - 2012 FZ1S Fazer, an it does for me cocker. 150 horses sure puts a smile on my face and the fairing helps take a bit of the breeze off while progress is being made
Fuel consumption isn't astronomical for a litre bike (obviously dependent on hoon mode), and riding through the winter (ish) hasn't revealed any major corrosion hot spots so all good so far....
Looking forward to a bit of touring this year, pillion seat and grab rails look plenty adequate for strapping on a bit of luggage and a tent so wide world here I come ..... ____________________ FZ1-S Fazer (licence killer😢) , CRF1000L - Adventure Sport |

I put 19000 miles on an 08, faired version. Quick, good handling bikes. As mentioned pegs go down very easy. Remove the screw in hero blobs on the pegs. Rear shock not up to much, replaced mine with a height adjustable aftermarket job. Improved handling and gave a bit more clearance. Also jack up kits available with the benefit of making the steering quicker. Don't worry about making the steering too quick by doing this, FZs are slow steering and ultra stable. Fit Pilot Road 2cts. Some run a higher profile rear.
One of the best all rounders built IMO. My mate now has 29000 trouble free miles.
A little bit thirsty would be my only negative comment.
My bike was a US import with no ABS. A UK bike with ABS may fetch a bit more money. Check which you are looking at so you don't pay over the odds. |
