It must have been hugely frustrating when the police wouldn't act, maybe for the officers on the ground too (damn city hall and it's red tape).
Still, impressive that they managed to track it that long, especially as I'd expect the bike to be inside a container that would notably disrupt the GPS and other signals. Cracking result.

Likely to only be inside a van given the speed it made it to Lithuania.

Not an advert. Just thought it worth putting up for all the "there's no point ahving any security because they will steal your bike anywaymehmehmehmeh" people.

I wonder if Plodly and Co will actually liase with the Lithuanian Plodski and see how organised the theft was.

well if it cost 2-300 quid to get your bike back in uk after its stolen i hate to think what recovery costs would be from that far away lol

Ive a funny feeling its worth it for RoadAngel to foot the recovery bill. Its fuck all compared with what it wold cost in advertising.

Must be now a good few years ago Kevin Ash reviewed this. Cost then £299 + £99 per year. Can't find on Bike-Trac site a purchase price, only subscription, still £99pa. So on a £12000 Ducati then maybe can justify from new. On my £500 1994 cb500, not so much.

If anyone thinks it's a good idea but baulk at the initial cost and subscription there's plenty of google search results of people making their own trackers using PAYG sim and old phones.

You don't need to go to the trouble there are plenty of cheap PAYG trackers out there, just look on Ebay or Amazon. You can get RF locators as well like the Loc8t. Easy enough to fit to a bike. Only thing is you need to make sure you keep the sim active and topped up. For less than £100 you could be sorted.
