I passed my big bike test around 10 days ago and have just got my licence back (the new style one).

It shows I have an A category, as well as an AM, but not A1 or A2.

Looking at their website:

https://www.gov.uk/driving-licence-categories

Does this really mean I can only ride a big bike (or a 50cc scooter) and not the 125 I currently have Shocked Very Happy Laughing

You may be being a touch silly. Razz

According to the strict wording of the relevant regulations, what you should have is an "A3" license rather than A. However, they also say that an "A" license applies to all sub-categories of A (A1, A2, A3) and so oh god I've lost the will to live.

Does in say anything in the 12th category? For A2 it should say "79(tri)"

Strangely, I've just looked at mine and my AM entitlement starts a week after my A2. Not that it matters in any way...

Cheers guys, I'm not too worried Very Happy

dydey90 - i don't have anything in the 12th category (not sure if it's because I have an A licence)

My AM entitlement started 6 days after the test (which happened to be the day before I got my licence back) so I assume it's the day they processed it.

Just need to look to get rid of the tiddler so I definitely riding according to my licence Very Happy
