The neutral bulb... if there is an inhibitor circuit, then the starter and or ignition may be isolated by the bike not being in neutral, the side stand being down and or the clutch, or precicely the clutch switch, not un-inhibiting it.
So, potentially... have you got a circuit diagram?
If so, does it show inhibit circuits?
Neutral lamp often swwitched on on the earth side by contact on the selector shaft; if bulb blown, then circuit wont be made, inhibitor could read that as bike in gear... but usually over ridden by switch on clutch lever if pulled in.
You say you did 'other work'... did that perchance include taking anything off the handlebars?
Check the kill switch; check the wires to the clutch micro-switch; try pulling clutch in and presing starter, with the side stand up.
Do the simple, most do-able checks first, then report.
No solenoid click would suggest its likely an inhibitor... you could try by-passing that to see if the starter will engage...
And may sound daft, but when you say you have no sparks, how did you check?
Not unheard of for folk to take plug out and leave it dangling on the HT lead and not get any sparks as metal body of plug has no earth connection, or similar. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
