I signed up to join my regional forum last night. When I joined, it said I would receive notificaton "shortly".

24 hours later, no email or anything & when I try to go on it says my application is "pending".

How long does it take to join your region? Does it depend on the regional mod, or the site admin? What happens next?

I'm now bursting with curiosity to know what may be happening locally that I'm not aware of!

It depends if your regional mod is asleep or not. I'm guessing he is.

Await the reigonal admin. They are unpaid and have meagre tastes. They often don't eat for weeks to be able to afford the internet connection. Wink

Please be patient with them, they try their best! Smile

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

The regional admins may have been a bit suspicous of letting bikerweb people on to their forums when initially a lot came in with intention of causing trouble.

Perhaps yours has been 'delayed' after someone read what you were saying in that thread on bw.... or stew just hasn't been on since quite possibly Smile.

Still, its better than when Dean was in charge - he wanted addresses of family members going back 3 generations so you could prove your northernness. Rolling Eyes

Hmmm, hope that's not the case for me, or this Scotsman will never get to join the South East brigade.

You're alright, they let me in and I'm possibly the most northern person on the forum. Thumbs Up

Fair enough. I shall wait patiently until Stew decides to contact me.

Will it help if I flutter my eyelashes?

Hmm I've still got a lot to learn about this forum haven't I? Especially the gossip, and who's with who etc.......

Should I start a new gossip thread?

Go for it, I don't think anyone's ever bluntly posted one actually. Laughing

Slough?
shiver
The most 'exciting' night of my life included getting caught in a fight at the first pub I went to in the place, getting thrown out and barred from the club I'd gone to to watch a friends band playing, getting caught in a small riot in slough centre whilst looking for the station followed by an attempted mugging whilst entering said station. Then quizzing every train driver where they were going as they pulled up to a platform as there were no staff around to ask and the screens had been vandalised, and finally having to walk from Twyford to Henley as I'd missed the last train and didn't have the taxi fare available. If nothing else at least it was certainly memorable.
John Betjeman said it best. Slough...

Yes, G already mentioned Betjeman's work to me.

It's not that bad really, I don't frequent the town, just use it as a base that happens to be equidistant between work and play. Smile Given that in Paddington I had a stabbing in my road, a shooting in the road behind, a theft attempt on my CBR and my scooter ignition ripped out twice, Slough is a move up. Laughing

Blimey, yam ... if I signed onto the regional forum for my area, you lot Up North would never get to see me.

My passports only just been renewed ... must get outside M25 more often.

I've had the same experience when trying to join the South West regional forum.

I keep getting booted out or they won't let me join at all, which is odd since other people not from the area are in the forum.

I'm obviously not wanted Crying or Very sad
