I've been asked to recommend a bike mag subscription to a work colleague so she can buy it for her hubbies birthday.

I have already suggested that a mag won't cover specifically "restoring old bikes" and that joining a forum would be the better choice. However joining a forum doesn't make a nice present.

So can anyone recommend a subscription to a mag that will cover restoring old bikes, if you want to be specific I'm told it's a Triumph Bonneville he is interested it.

I've so far suggested
Classic Bikes
Back Street Heroes

Karma awaiting.

What kind of classic bike?

Practical Sportsbike might be a good shout if his idea of classic is an FZR750. Thumbs Up

The response to that question was Triumph Bonneville, whether that is strictly a "classic bike" i'll leave to you.

Got a copy of one of these a while ago because of a certain article

www.classicbikeguide.com

Wasn't too bad - not that half of it will probably be relevant to the specific bikes he may be interested of course, reason I tend to avoid most mags n' papers.

Classic Motorcycle Mechanics is the best of that genre without a doubt. Especially if he likes a good spectrum of bikes from the 1960s to the late 1990s.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
