Just wondering the purpose of this when bringing your road bike on to track days?

So if you stack it the glass doesn't shatter.

Its a bit of a throwback to when they were glass - the idea is to stop bits of glass being left all over the track.

ACU scroot's seemed to think that lights should be taped up.
However most of them seemed to be from the days when race bikes had glass on them Smile....
Despite the fact they are made from a similar plastic to some fairings.

It's worth covering your brake light so people don't use it as an indication of what you're doing... especially if your light is sensitive.

Time spent sweeping up bits of glass or plastic means downtime for the track and/or flags going up and spoiling the day for everybody.

Its only a common courtesy and doesn't really take up that much time.

Plus if you forget to take the tape off you can always do the casual "Oops I forgot to take it off" next time you're down at the pub Very Happy
