I would like to come into chat, but I'm puzzled. Confused

Tonight, there were 29 users in chat. 1 in LiveChat (me) and 28 in IRC.

WTF is IRC? And how does one "do" it?

IRC is a protocol.

Not really worth explaining, live chat gets you to the same place, use that!

Don't know how its different ... you know me, not very good at stuff like that. But its got the same commands and stuff.

There's a bot in the chatroom that echoes everything you say to the IRC room, and everything the IRC room says to the chatroom.

This is because some people like IRC and some people like the chatroom. This way, everyone wins.

Yes hellkat, the same as mirc, just log onto an undernet server and join #bikechatforums if you would like to use irc rather than live chat.

Well now I'm even more confused. Last night I could get in & post but there was no-one else there (although there was a member list alongside).

Tonight I have gone in (note to Korn: it said there is a run-time error that it wanted me to debug, a null in the member list I think?) and you were all there chatting away, the little message came up to say i was in on the chat screen - but I couldn't type anything! So I came out again.........

Help?

Just because there are people on the member list in the chat room, does not mean they are there. There are lots of us who leave out computers on, with IRC open and in the chat room all day so just because it has the computer connected does not mean that there is a person there.

Ste they were definitely there, they were talking to each other. I could see the conversation but not join in as I was unable to get a cursor in the box at the bottom that you type in. I clicked on it many times but nothing happened.

This was from my laptop, running Internet Explorer via WinXP home.

Try tabbing your way down the page to get into the box?
