Hi. I'm fairly new to the bike world and I've recently done my CBT. I'm 21 was thinking about doing the proper license but I can't be bothered to wait a couple weeks to do theory and practical.... I will probably end up doing these in the future but I'd prefer to be some experience and get comfortable with bikes before going for a bigger engine (although a 250-600 would be more ideal)

Anyway I like the style of the KTM 690 Enduro's. I've found a few with similar looks but I'm sure there is a load out there that I'm not looking at due to lack of knowledge.

Sinnis Apache
Pulse Adrenaline

These two seem to pop up everytime I'm searching for super moto style bikes. Any experience with these? Prefer More known makes but I can't seem to find them for under £2000

Budget around £2000 prefer to get a bike on finance.

DT125X, faster and better built than both of those two. Thumbs Up

Aprilia MX125?

Spicy110's Apache review in which he compares it to his previous Pulse.

Have a go on one before committing though. I tried a DR125SM this weekend and couldn't get on with the "high arse, low bars" nonsense, and the Sinnis and Pulse are even more stilty.

For the record, XR 125's are not that crap.

They do what they are supposed to do, not going to break any speed records but can be a good bit of fun. Not really supermoto either it's a bit dated.

Thumbs Up

Yamaha WR125x best 125 sm out there but I doubt you will find one for £2000. The new price went up last year as well. If you can get finance on a second hand bike though it would be the best bike wether private or from a dealer.

Supermoto 125's are properly expensive, WR125's I think are more expensive than a DRZ 400 when they were sold new.

I would say a DTX 125 would be one of the best but it's 2 stroke and they've been out of production for a while now so getting a bit raggy.

Yes you could get a Chinese one for £2k but by the time you're done with it it'll be worth nothing. Spicy110 does rate them but honestly if you listen to the fault's he's had it is truly daft. Yes they are cheap to replace but it would get old fast and nothing like having a bike you know might not start one day when you're late for work.

I would say get a CG or something like that and do your tests, otherwise you're just wasting money on slow over priced bikes.

On the Sinnis?

Replaced the wiring loom because it took 30 minutes and was quicker than diagnosing a problem, and cost £30 (and that only because he'd chosen not to keep up the dealer warranty).

The electrics went out after heavy rain, once, due to a bad connection on the battery. Clean and tighten.

The exhaust rusts on the Sinnis, but there's a stainless one available that you can probably get comped if you ask.

He puts a fair number of miles on those bikes. Remember the thread about a CBF125 that was falling apart within a year while the owner was getting mugged at Honda dealer prices to keep it going?

Quality-wise I don't think it's a no-brainer any more. The big consideration remains depreciation.
