HELP!
I have purchased an old PE175 scrambler/motocross bike.
Basically until I get my full license (i have a provisional at the moment) I am assuming I am not allowed to ride it on green lanes as they count as roads and therefore require licensce etc.
If this is true I am looking for somewhere that I can ride off road without a license for the time being.
I live in southampton but I am willing travel (a bit )
I have found a proper motocross track but that is quite pricey and sounds a bit too OTT for what I want.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
P.S. I have already tried to find a friend with a field with no success! |

Green lanes are a no-no, you do need a licence, please don't be tempted to ride them illegally as there is a lot of people trying to stop bikes from using them, which would ruin my fun, so don't do it
It's good that your trying to find a track if you can travel by towing on a trailer or something then there are a good few tracks around the southampton/hampshire area.. I live in Portsmouth and know of a few places to ride around here and in Hampshire/brighton..
Motorcross tracks shouldn't be too expensive really, average is about £25/£30 for the whole day, very good value for money. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

If you can get to Golding Barn in Brighton, they run MX Experience days there - you don't want to do the experience day, unless you want to spend £££ but if they run first timer days there then the track can't be too bad..
I was there earlier this year but didn't ride, track looks good, nice table top but you only need to go as fast as you want etc same with any practice days...
There are a few others about which I'll try to post later tonight when I'm at home. I am trying to get on some ACU MX training days shortly which you might be able to book up on, not sure how much it costs - will find out. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

Not sure about riding places because i'm the other end of the country, but I also had a PE175 and it was an amazing machine! I had it about 5 years and it was a minter, not a scratch on the bike (even for a 1984 model). Still miss her too, probably the best bike i've had to date.
When you find somewhere to ride, make sure you make the most and enjoy her!
I'm jealous, I want mine back. ____________________ Aprilia RSV Mille R Edwards Replica - Aprilia RS250 - Suzuki GSXR600 Supersport Race Bike |

Yes but unfortunately they have every right to use it as we do..
If anyone does go green laning etc at least make sure you have quiet road legal exhausts, it makes a big difference to peoples attitudes ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |
