Full Yamaha Service history?

If not, I think you'll struggle.

Good luck. Thumbs Up

No harm in trying, I can just see you struggling with no history at all.

Hi

Realistically, chances are probably nill on a bike of more than a nominal amount out of warranty. Does it have the locking washer in place?

All the best

On the Fazer FZS600, they were fitted with a 9mm thick front sprocket. These had a tendency to come off, possibly damaging the thread on the output shaft. Yamaha brought out a 12mm thick sprocket to replace it. If you catch it before things go wrong, a Yam dealer should replace it, they will have tech bulletins to refer to on this.

I have heard of Yamaha actually replacing the output shafts on bikes that were well out of warranty. It would be worth a call to Yamaha UK to see if you can't get them to do this.

Was the sprocket on the right way round?

All the best

I expect you already know but all you need in terms of what has happened to others with the same problem is listed here:

https://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,92.0.html

This is for Fazer issues mainly but if you do a search on the FOC U forum for front sprocket nut you will find loads more info including Yamahas official position on the issue.

May help you in your comms with yamaha if you are pursuing a claim
