 |
|
Well lads and lasses, today I read on a czech motorcycle site, that Kawasaki is working on another ZXR250 and they say the prototype is in it's final stage. All I could find so far is, that the zxr should have a in-line four cylinder four stroke engine with 16 valve head. Along with the in-line four cylinder engine version there's being developed a twin cylinder engine version. Also, they say the bike's gonna be most likely produced in Indonesia, which could mean they're gonna go with the twin cylinder engine.
Now it's up to bosses in Japan, what's it gonna be.
For those less educated or just ignorant people, here are something about the original zxr 250: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_Ninja_ZX-2R
Specs ('89-'90) NOT THE NEW VERSION FROM 2015
Engine: Liquid cooled, four stroke, transverse four cylinder, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder
Displacement: 249ccm
Bore x stroke: 49 x 33.1 mm
Max power: 45 hp 32.8 kW @ 15000 rpm
Max torque: 2.6 kgf-m 24.5 Nm @ 11500 rpm
Transmision: 6 speed gearbox
Dry weight: 144 kg

Probably a hoax - the 300cc seems to be the sweet spot within the EU licensing laws nowadays.
As for moving a few letters around, ninja 300, 300r, zx300r, zxr300 it just doesn't make a difference... They'll call it what they want and it'll bare little relation to the bikes of the past. ____________________ current: ducati monster 750

I googled around and many motorcycle sites have quite the same info. By the way, the specs are marked as 1989-1990 and even the picture is of the 1989-1990 version. So don't get overexcited yet. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

We will get the boring option. The emerging markets aren't interested in the small cc sports bikes, but they are interested in frugal commuters. ____________________ My Flickr |
