My beginning to motorcycling really isn't going well Sad

So, I couldn't start the bike this morning (NSR125R) but then realised I'd accidentally knocked the kill switch. Flipped that back and she started, let her idle a few minutes then went to get her over a lip we have at the side of our house and stalled her.

Now she won't start again? Heeeelppp Smile

Could I have flooded her? If so, how do I drain the carb?

Flooding doesn't refer to the carb - don't touch it. Whip the plug out and give it a clean (gentle wire brushing does the job) then turn it over a few times with the plug out, kill switch on and the throttle closed. Replace the plug (don't forget the kill switch) and you should be good to go. Thumbs Up

Thanks Islander but it turned out to be the plug itself Rolling Eyes

Laid the plug on the header and saw a spark but tried again and again and got nothing. For the sake of a tenner I decided to get another plug and, hey presto Very Happy

Only thing I find strange is that the bit of the spark plug the HT lead sits on is thicker than the plug that was in there which means it doesn't fit nice and snug, rather just sits on the top?? Spark plug I bought was a BR9EIX. Wonder whether it's something to do with the fact it's an import? Any idea's whether I can get hold of a different HT lead plug?

Look at the old plug. Is the HT lead contact sort of threaded?
Look at new plug? Is the HT lead contact it sort of egg-timer shaped?
If so unscrew it. Its a nipple.

You ride a 2-stroke, carry a spare plug and a spanner to change it Smile
