No

In a nutshell, I very much doubt that your postman will deliver a cover note, give you time to get to the post office, and then to your training for 8:45 am.

Hire a bike from the school.

I also doubt they will train you on a dodgy bike.

Fine for off road stuff, but not on the street later.

Also, how did you plan on gettng the bike to the school without CBT, tax and insurance?

CBT bloke will simply refuse to take you on the road without tax, as he'd get a rollocking off the police if you are caught.

If you want a CBT, don't try it, if you don't, try it.

HOWEVER ...

The cover note, when it does come, should have covered you from the moment you paid the premium, and therefore if you arrange it by phone with a credit card, it technically covers you from the moment the transaction goes thru on their machine and is accepted.

You could try and talk the insurance company into faxing (or couriering Shocked ) you a copy (at great expense if you don't live near them, admittedly).

But I am not so sure that the post office would accept a fax copy of a cover note when you applied for the tax disc. And if you dont have the log book yet either ... Sad

Best wait till you have the proper paperwork. The CBT company wont mind moving your appointment till you have your paperwork in order (or hire a bike from them). Bit of a nuisance that you have to wait, though.

And if they all jump off a bridge, will you do it too?

My bike doesn't appear to have tax, but the disk is in my pocket. Police check the plate, and can tell if it is taxed by their computer, they do not have to see the disk.

Patience child, you are only allowed six points until a while after your test, take your time, enjoy the experience, and ride safe and legal.

Riding without tax will invalidate your insurance, and any accident you get inn will leave you screwed. It aint worth it, even though we never expect to crash.

For the sake of a couple of days, or even a week, it aint worth it.

Don't get it??

You don't need your insurance cover note for your CBT as your hiring a bike.

You reckon the note will turn up friday...... so go do your cbt, go home, get your cover note and then you can go to post office and get tax etc?

CBT won't take you all day as far as I remember

No, your insurnace covers you on a legal bike from the point you phone. A bike without tax is not legal, and therefore the insurance is invalid.

If you've waited sixtenn years, a couple of days aint going to hurt.

Shade
All legal, apart from the occasional speed guideline. I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you pesky kids.
