Anybody owned one of these?

I can't find much information about them, unlike the more popular 2-strokes. Are they any good?

Good points? Bad points?

Not bad little bikes and basically half an RGV250 performance wise...you can even bolt on RGV barrels etc but they do share the same power valve issues that means the power valve can break and drop into the combustion chamber if not maintained and inspected or adjusted wrong.....there are cheap modified pins to address this issue but if its not a shagged out mechanical liability then they make a much better learner bike than the 4t stuff that's available now and when you pass your test derestriction involves unplugging a grey wire from the CDI and away you go!

Great bikes, powerband is epic for a tiddler Laughing

Do not put cheap 2-stroke oil in them Thumbs Up

If it is a full power from factory model (german import etc) you should get about a ton out of it, if not you can de-restrict them fairly easily.

If you need bits/work done https://www.pjme.co.uk/ is the man to see.

Are they a Nikasil bore? Where would these get re-plated? Just wondering as this would need doing at some point.

PJME re-bore/line them, sure there are plenty of other alternative places too.

There's also a washer welded into the expansion chamber!

Fantastic little bikes & such a hoot to ride. I've owned 6 or 7 of them (currently have 2). The fastest one I've ever had was my original wolf which I bought brand new back in 94 which got 107mph (on the speedo) & I was considerably lighter back then. Laughing Derestriction is easy if the one you're looking at hasn't already been done you just need to unplug the white with black tracer wire from the CDI unit so the PV servo makes a full cycle & then just gut the exhaust. There's a guide on the 125 sportsbike forum.
