France proposes to reduce the speed limit on national and departmental roads (A roads to you and me) to 80kmh (50mph) by next summer.
As you can imagine, this has not gone down well so the FFMC or French Federation of angry bikers are holding demonstrations throughout France over the next few days.

They do know how to demonstrate so I expect these to be huge in numbers

To improve road safety and to say no to the policy number, the FFMC, with the support of members of the Union of Road Users (UUR) associations calling for demonstrations across France on 12 and 13 April 2014.
By next summer, the government plans to impose a new speed limit of 80 km / h on national and departmental roads. Announced in Manuel Valls, the escalating security is inspired by a small committee of experts who claim achieve a goal ruled by bureaucrats of the European Union: halve the numbers of road deaths.
Associations for drivers grouped in the Union of Road Users, road safety should instead be based on sharing the road, appeasement behavior, training and information for road users but ... with a road safety dictated by the Ministry of the Interior, it is still and always stick policy we find out! Enough!
Another road safety is possible,
with and for and not against them

A list of meeting points can be found here https://www.ffmc.asso.fr/spip.php?article2636&lang=fr

Most gatherings are planned April 12, 2014. Two rallies in department 29 and the 72, are scheduled for April 13
