Rare £45,000 MV Agusta stolen from car park

POLICE in London are appealing for information after a rare motorbike worth more than £45,000 was stolen.

Detective Constable Eve Mole, of Kensington and Chelsea police, said: “The owner treasured this bike and is devastated by its loss.”
Wonder if the police would make an appeal if someones treasured CG125 was stolen from a carpark Thinking

It only made the new on VD because Massimo died and the owner prolly mailed VD about it.

VD prolly contacted the police for a statement/comment hence why it is a standard response.

Blame VD for making this "news" and not the police.

The sad thing is that the thieving little bastards probably don't even realise just what it actually is.

The sad thing is... the 3 men probably knew exactly what they were stealing.

"
A financier today said he was heartbroken at the theft of his rare £50,000 superbike from a multi-storey car park in a “Gone in 60 Seconds”-style heist.

Biking enthusiast Luigi La Ferla, 55, an investment manager at Marble Arch-based World Trade Capital Partners, was one of only 300 people in the world to own an MV Agusta 750 F4 Oro."

Just goes to show; they are as careless with their own assets as they are with their client's.

Ah, my heart bleeds. I wonder how many real people's pensions were plundered so that scumbag could have his toy.

/thread.

I'm surprised he even noticed it was gone.

Still choppy-handy for the thieves, mind.

Shame about the bike. Having a bike stolen is always a horrible feeling.

It wasn't a bike in the sense that we'd understand it, it was an ornament bought as an investment. I'd be surprised if Luigi there even has a license.

Had a plaque with his name on, would have thought that suggested it was a bike for him. Either way, horrible feeling to have a bike stolen.

£45k insured value, maybe.

More realistically, £25k.

So, we're talking less than a decently specced Mondeo, or a fairly low spec sprinter van.

Original purchase price probably around that of an ok specced 3 series BMW?

As far as bikes go, quite expensive. As far as 'vehicles' go, really not that much money when you consider what others are using on the roads daily.

200 miles in 14 years? That's some serious luck on the thief's part if it really was stolen to order. Even if they were shopping for a standard F4, when did you last see one of them?

To be honest it looks like one of BCF's toddlers have painted it.

It's not particularly powerful. It's just a name. There's better mass produced stuff and better modded stuff out there and with 200 miles on the clock there still loads of shit to go wrong. I'd give em a grand for it because parts are gonna be expensive too

Having said that Very Happy in this case that 200 miles in nearly 15 years doesn't suggest that the owner was at one with his machine. Still, I was gutted when somebody stole my bike and I sympathise with him for that reason - it's a nasty experience.

This envy presents itself in many ways, the 'why should you have something I don't' approach.
Quite sad really.

From LB forum, it appears it was stolen from an NCP car park of all places. Stolen just after it had been serviced too. Hmmmmm..

Is that the profit if he gets a £45k payout?

All the best
