Now that most of the nasty salt is off the road I've treated my bike to a full caliper rebuild. If anything the expected benefits were reduced wheel drag and more bite in the brakes.

Instead what I'm left with is a bonus that I can't fathom for the life of me. It seems now my bike handles superbly, similar to that brand new non square tyre feel. Or going from a large cruiser to 600 super sport.

Only idea I've come up with is that the pistons were seriously stuck making it more of a struggle to lean due to effectively having the brakes on 24/7 a slight amount. But even at a stand still the bars just swivel back and forth without resistance. Any explanations for this that I've over looked?

Routing of the brake lines? Maybe they arent catching on something and they were before?

If it's a floating caliper, does it slide freely on the pins?

The brake lines don't seem to be routed differently at all so I doubt its that unless it was snagged at the mc end and got freed.

Initially the problem was the seals which is why I rebuilt it, still doesn't explain why the bike now handles much better.

Now it slides freely on the pins, before the nearside caliper pins were well and truly stuck. Would that cause it?
