I am struggling with keeping my knees firm on the tank. when accelerating hard, it pushes me back .

are there any pads or something out there I could buy which helps improve stop my knees sliding as I am trying to hug the tank with it so to unload pressure on my hand and giving unnecessary input when turning/braking or accelerating.

also is it worth changing the seat to some type of textile seat or something with pattern on so it is not as easy to slide?

Something like this may help although more for helping you slide left and right whilst gripping i believe - dont bother with them myself so far. Search motorcycle tank grip on ebay etc.

Wrap some anti-slip mat around your seat if its majorly slidey, although you might find it actually hinders you a bit moving your bum on the seat when cornering etc, depending how you ride.
