Anyone ever used these before?

Was looking at this one as its cheapest - only velcro fastening though, and doesn't have the technical look of a lot of the other more expensive ones.

Anything to consider when deciding whether to pay for the more expensive ones, or are they all the same principle/purpose really.

Those aren't proper neck braces, more of a support. Only really useful for kids who haven't got much strength in their neck.

If you're serious about a neck brace you would need a Leatt or something and they will set you back over £150, I'd love one but waaaay to expensive for me to justify it right now, same goes for knee braces.

I do have a leatt, but don't bother with generally.

It does make it harder to move your head around.

Haven't had any crashes where it would have helped when wearing it, so couldn't comment really.

Also, err, note that a 'neck brace' isn't designed to work like a knee brace. It's purely designed to limit the amount the head can travel - think whip lash etc.

Thanks for the comments Thumbs Up

May have to risk a higher chance paralysis a bit longer with costs like £150 I think Laughing

I did actually order the Wulf one in the end but may well get it returned once i've tryed it on by the sounds of it.

I suspect a foam one will be less annoying to use, meaning you use it more of the time and thus may actually be more useful Smile.

With your leatt is it more a case of you cant tilt your neck towards either shoulder but can still twist to look left and right as normal, or is that also quite restricted/impossible?

Twisting is more restricted.
Haven't worn it in some time and don't have it here as leant to a friend (who I don't think uses it too much after the first event he did - at least from what I remember of pictures I've seen when he's been doing enduros.)

If it's not being used, I'll grab it in a week (presuming I get up there) and you can see how it feels if I do finally manage to sort out that dirty play date.

The Wulfsport ones definatly going back Laughing can't fathom how small the youth one must be, this adult ones smaller than a plate, would be a good fit for a large owls neck Rolling Eyes
