Have just bought myself a Derbi Senda Xtreme 50sm 2008 and all is good and starts first time but when left for about 5 mins even with revving it will slowly just fall rpm and die. It also wont restart straight away takes a little while and few kicks. I thought maybe might be something with the choke but not sure. Havent had it out on the road yet so maybe it just needs a good run to clear exhaust or something. Anyone got any ideas or had the same problem?

Cheers Kit

Check the tank breather is clear as it sounds like fuel starvation, which a blocked breather would cause after a few minutes running. The easiest check is to run with the filler cap open and see if it still dies after 5 mins.

If it's not that I'd be suspicious of the choke itself. If it's not opening the butterfly fully when you disengage it then it'll just run rich until the plug gets too wet to spark. It'd dry out after awhile and restart. I'd have thought you would have more trouble restarting it than just a few kicks though, as it'd flood.

It could be the coil/CDI breaking down when hot but that'd be my least likely choice.

My money's on the tank breather.

Right ok will give that ago when I've got this other problem sorted. Kickstart stopped working so took all apart and got it working so put cover back on and crewing bolts back up and crack the while cover on the side of the engine (metal) has got a big crack down the middle of it. Anyone know where to get this fixed? A few people have suggested aroldite it welding paste so might give them ago first.

Cheers kit
