Not strictly motorbike related, but i will be travelling through France on Easter monday.
Whats the likelyhood of finding somewhere to eat? I have heard that pretty much everything shuts on bank holidays, but what about (and i hate to say this..) McDonalds and other closely related fast food places?

Thanks for any advice.
Nick

Last time me an the missus were in France was on Bastille Day and everywhere was jumping, the French are very family orientated so I would think most eateries would be open on the Monday.

Petrol stations though appear to have their own unfathomable opening times so make sure you top up when you can.

Have they sorted the auto stations were you pay by credit cards? Only they didn't take UK cards in the past. I'm thinking chip and pin is Europe wide so maybe. Haven't been for a while so unsure on that one (I'm sure someone on here will know).

The only place i ever have problems with cards is the netherlands. All other shops, petrol stations are fine.

Although a lot of the stuff will be closed, you will get tourist type things open, food and drink, attractions etc.

Didn't have a problem with either my Barclaycard or Natwest debit card at Carfour or Le Clerc supermarkets this time last year.

Just remember to tell your card company that you'll be heading abroad or they may block your card

Thanks again guys, had no problems on our journey finding a bite to eat, ended up in Rouen at a nice little resteraunt just by the Notredame cathedral - that is an epic building, and i dont mean that lightly!
