They wouldn't/couldn't insure my new (to me) bike, so sent me to bikesure. Said it was a £50 cancellation charge plus £26.00 for God knows why plus £30 because I bought it online and that had been discounted and now I had to pay it back. Refusal to do so would mean debt collectors and that my NCB would not be released to my new insurers.

Deep breath, check mirrors, lifesavers and....... One MCW total wobble later, cancellation charge halved and other charges dropped.
