You could call up and complain about the fire being extinguished.

Annoyingly my council's latest trick is using average speed cameras attached to lamp posts, so they're out of reach. This means I'm forced to ride even faster down adjacent roads to make up for the lost time! Razz

Very confusing article. They say speed cameras are being attacked, then talk about safety devices. I presume the safety devices they are talking about are the tyres being used to burn the speed cameras, which cause accidents by making drivers brake sharply in supposedly high risk areas?

Congratulations to the person who lit the fire btw, they've done the public a great service Thumbs Up

Police have previously condemned the attacks on what they call a "vital tool in keeping our doughnut fund safe".

Must admit last time I ventured into Scotland the speed cameras at the border were a bad joke. Nothing on the English side then lots as you went into Scotland.

I also found the placing really bad for safety but really good for generating cash. Placed on straight bits of road that were the only really safe overtaking bits between the twisties.

Thinking going off-topic come the referendum if independent do I need to pay a speeding fine received in the post from a foreign country that's not part of the EU Confused Wink

Traditional speed traps are always in places like that too.
Calling them 'safety cameras' would be OK if they covered known accident black spots.

That's the thing they are willing to put them in under any pretext.

Road near me for instance 30mph, has always been 30mph.

One day a 14year old girl got REALLY drunk and passed out falling into the road, speed wasn't even a factor but they plastered the area with cameras because of this.

They have been targeted 20 times ... in a decade!

I think it's stupid, it should happen a lot more frequently!
