Hello everyone, first of all thanks for taking the time to read my post...

I have relatively no mechanical experience on Bikes, I've done a few chain and sprockets before on 125's but that's about it.

The problem I have is that I have recently replaced the sprockets on my CBF 125 2012, the rear wheel has been pulled as far back as it can go and when I tried to adjust this using the nuts pressing against the swing arm the threading on both sides of the swing arm snapped off with the nuts still attatched!.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a quick, relatively cheap option to get some new threading on there so I can adjust the wheel position, would simply drilling wider holes and attatching new thread work? Or is there some sort of alternative method so I can just push it forward quickly to attach this new chain?

Thanks for reading, Joe.

Do you mean the adjusters (bolt like part) snapped off with the nuts attached or just the threads? Either way, replace them. If its a Honda then parts should be readily available. It does sound like you may have been a bit hard on them unless Honda are using really cheap Chinese components now. My old Honda H100 is 34 this year and still has its original adjusters?

Maybe a picture would help?

The bolt type thing sticking out of the adjuster as well as the nuts, (Componants 11 and 15 missing on both sides as well as the thread that componant 5 rests on)

I have new ones on the way however I was just wondering if there was any alternative way to quickly adjust it so I can get a chain on and get this thing moving. (It's currently stuck in a car park)

Surely if it's just a case of having the nut push against the adjuster drilling a wider hole and attatching some new thread would temporarily fix the problem until my replacements come?

Thanks.

Got the wheel forward and the tension on the chain seems to be holding it there, should do for now until I get it into my garage to fit new adjusters, thanks again to everyone who gave advice!

Old Thread Alert!
