So my sister is after a small bike to do a little green laning on/zipping about on the roads where she lives, just for a bit of fun.

She's just picked this up:
https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/t31.0-8/10014732_10152160528668577_7284064311560385044_o.jpg

I rode it for a couple of miles and it feels like a death trap. I followed her back to her house on the R1 as well and it looked even dodgier from behind as she was flooring it at 60mph odd.

What other type bikes are around this height? No more than 125 / 200 tops and she only paid £550 for that, so no more expensive either?

She has a full motorcycle license and has had ZX6R's and 750's before but she's never felt in control of them because she can't touch the floor properly (even with lowering kits).

Laughing Yeah I admit it wasn't the best of help.

I reckon most bikes like this will have been owned by tramps on the local council estate, stolen at some point or been left in a state of "nah mate it's fine don't worry about it" only for the wheels to fall off it.

My point exactly and she's after buying another one for her husband (who has never ridden a bike), just think it's a bad choice and told her I will see if there's any alternatives.

Imo the only thing the vanvan has going for it is clearance. Don't get me wrong - I like them a lot. But the rear tyre slips around loads and almost undermines whatever gains you get from a bit of half decent clearance. Then there's the fact that they struggle to even hit 50 most of the time. And they're dear for what they are - nearly three and a half grand new, so second hand prices are correspondingly high too.
