Hello from another newbie

Long time reader so thought I'd finally sign up and post in here to say hi and introduce myself.

I've been wanting to learn to ride for ages but have only recently been in a position where I can, so I booked up my CBT in December, everything went well (considering the weather was really bad) up until the road ride where the visor fell became detached from one side of the helmet. The smart thing to do was to stop and sort it out, instead I carried on where it completely fell off whilst going around a corner, I went to grab it, letting go of the clutch in the processes and grabbing hold of the front brake causing a lowside and termination of my CBT in the porcess
Undeterred, I booked it up again for January, armed with my own helmet this time, I only needed to go for the road ride portion which went a lot better and I left with my CBT

At the end of January I picked up a 2012 CBF125 with the intention of getting some experience on two wheels before booking up for DAS. I've been riding around on it and having a great time, took my theory test last week so am now looking to book the DAS up very shortly

I was riding home last night, same route as usual, final roundabout which I've done many times in the wet exactly the same but this time there must have been some oil/diesel on the road as one moment I was heading towards my exit and the next I was on the floor and my bike was scraping along the tarmac

Other than some scratches to the fairing, indicator and exhaust, the only real damage looks like the handlebar is bent and the rear brake lever is a bit higher than before. So when that arrives I'll probably be asking questions on how to fit the new one and check that the forks are ok (speed of the lowside was low so I don't expect too much damage)
