The plastic panels on my shadow are now worn down to plastic, zero paint left at certain parts. I've decided to try some plasti dip to return the matte finish.
Anyone got any recommendations of what brand to use? Shall just be black I use for now.
Also, 1 of the covers that needs done is the right side engine cover. How will the finish fair with the heat?

^^^^ Beat me to it, british company too Thumbs Up

Dont think either would hold up to heat very well though, would be interested to see the results if you try it.

I used plastidip on my little cbf125 on the peg wings (I have no idea what they are called) because my boots had rubbed off the paint and they were rusting

Bear in mind I've never spray painted anything in my life before. Although the results were far from perfect, that was down to me rushing it rather than the plastidip.

However, plastidip can't resist any sort of abrasion / rubbing so within a week bits were hanging off and the following weekend I peeled it all off again.

AFAIK they do have some sort of primer but I didn't use any of that.

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of. This is what I need to cover https://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj193/craig_mccann/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140504_183454_zpsn42svwrm.jpg

Obviously my leg will be rubbing against it. So not sure how long it will last with that.

I could. But just doing a touch up would leave me an uneven finish. I'd rather a uniform finish, as you'll see the right side is matte and the left worn down to gloss and beyond. So I'd rather do the full thing. That clear vinyl would be a shout though.
