so...last couple of weeks my left ankle has started playing up, to the point I can't walk normally and either have a slight limp of my left foot slaps the ground as I walk, annoying enough, however it seems to be related to the front of my ankle which has sporadically started feeling stiff and difficult to move very far,

doesn't really hurt just literally cannot move it far up, this is making gear changing awkward.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced similar and if it's related to riding? possibly newish boots (2 months old now but same boots as my last pair I wore a year with no issues)?

it's more of an annoyance/distraction than anything

Maybe a trapped nerve or some sort of problem with nerve(s) not allowing the signal to your muscles in the foot work properly? Well, best to see the Dr to find out or be referred to a specialist for diagnosis!

I've had a similar problem in the past except I found out later on after a lumber puncture that one or two of my counts were down, and the only major change in my diet was that I had left out was milk almost completely for six months. So, after 3 months of drinking milk the strength in my legs was fully restored with no exhaustion or that my legs felt that they had gone to sleep at times after walking 10-15mins with cramp!

Take a look at your diet and see if you've made any major changes lately has maybe contributed to over the last 6 months or have neglected on necessary minerals & vitamins for your body to function properly?

I've had Salomon hiking boots which are expensive and I had to throw them away after doing a simple trip without falling except the design of the boots caused me to tear the ligament in my right ankle which has taken ages to heal back to 99% good, as they didn't flex like my last boots when ever I tripped? Sometimes the cheaper are better than the more expensive brand name!

So, try a different pair for a while up to a month without wearing the current ones and see what happens?

There you go you maybe need to take a close look at your diet, and make sure you get everything your body needs!

Is she a Veggie or Vegan ? lol

My cousin dumped his future wife (a vegan) that he was supposed to marry within 2 weeks because on his stag night he fell in love with another woman he then married later that is now funnily enough is a vegetarian that would allow him to eat meat once in a while!! lol

Do you eat Quorn instead of meat or just go without? My missus is a vegetable too so I have to eat a lot of Quorn.
Since it's so much healthier though, it means that a full English is now a delicious and nutritious way to start the day Thumbs Up

You should try the Quorn, the sausages and chicken nuggets are quite acceptable. It's meant to have a shit load of protein in, since most vegetables and vegans struggle to get enough.

Try switching to another/the old pair of boots and see if it goes away - if they're particularly stiff and you're shifting gear a lot it might be the constant muscle strain of pushing up against the boot. I have similar issues with my clutch hand periodically, made worse with certain gloves - if you keep pushing it/riding and it that is the cause its only going to get worse most likely as well. I've been unable to ride for almost two weeks at one point after ignoring my hand getting painful Mad

Good shout, will be using old boots this week as it's raining less now so the hole in them will be less of an issue,
