Just got my self a shark s900 glow, really like it, great little air pump feature in there that blows cheek pads up for a perfect fit. Just need help with wind noise.
It is quieter than my last helmet but still uncomfortable noise levels especially at motorway speeds
Until....... I raise my shoulders to my helmet, it's like magic, all wind noise is compleatly gone and all I can hear is my bike. Unfortunately being hunched up like this is a ridiculous riding position but is there anything I can do to replicate it. I know I'm going to get daft answers like glue a small dog to the top of each shoulder or take steroids and grow some real man shoulders.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this working and knows of a product that acts in the same way to block the air from entering under the helmet or something that deflects the air from Inbetween the shoulders.

Did the helmet come with a clip in chin curtain piece ? They help reduce wind noise

Failing that, bigger screen or ear plugs

Might be the design mines is better when leant forward as its designed for a sports riding position than an upright position

It's a kwaka er6f, I have some top quality molded earplugs from my time in the army. Things sound so good when I block the bottom of my helmet with my shoulders it's a shame to block everything out with the earplugs.
I was really hoping one of you experienced blokes would be able to say
" it's as simple as just doing xxxxxx and bobs your uncle"

I find my neck tube / buff thing helps prevent wind noise, presumably by reducing the gap around the bottom of helmet.

Similarly, seen people with these on their helmets but no idea if they actually work and are convenient.

Earplugs definitely do the job and cheapest option.

There is a bit of fabric under the chin

Maybe I just need to tuck me self under the screen then.
Feel a bit daft tucking down at 60/70mph. Feels like other bikers will be looking thinking "who the hell does he think he is"

Sorry for sounding daft, but I'm a complete noob to all this, apart from the head nod to others I'm insure how I should be carrying my self without looking like a tool lol

Changing my lid reduced wind noise considerably, and reduced the wind buffeting I was experiencing by an amazing amount, making long trips/motorway riding far less fatiguing.

It's a combination of factors - riding position, helmet, screen. I was lucky to hit on a good combination this time by changing one thing.

Haha, I have the exact same helmet - and I had the exact same problem - terrible, terrible wind noise.

The problem is of the design of the ear padding/shape lets all of the air up from around your shoulders.

This fixes 80% it (much better) and with earplugs there is no noise at all:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/WINDJAMMER-REDUCES-Helmets-original-Worldwide/dp/B003FHLNVK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399761591&sr=8-1&keywords=wind+jammer

It does make riding a bit hot on the warmer days mind you..

Shite helmet design. It also leaks in loads of water as well in the rain. I'm going to avoid Shark in the future, it has even gone back to them for them just to say "make sure the vents are closed in the rain" no shit sherlock.

IMO take it back and get another make.

I have a Shark Vision R which fits fine, wind jammer, wear ear plugs and wear a balaclava coupled with a taller screen.

None of it seems to help.

I'm looking at replacing the taller screen with an OEM small one to take the wind blast on the chest instead. The other option is an MRA (or similar) spoiler in the hopes that it pushes it way over my head but I'm not too keen on needing to watch out for low bridges.
