Hi Everyone,
I passed my CBT yesterday after a few worrying moments involving the figure of 8 and the U-turn but now I am road legal for the next 2 years at least , but I don't want to stop there and would like to continue to a full licence.
My question really is whilst I understand the question part of the theory test I have never had to do the hazard perception part of it and clicking on mock ones off the internet is all well and good but on the actual hazard perception test do you click every time you see a hazard or are you only able to click the once ???
Has any one please got any tips as this is the bit I'm worrying about, I can practice the fissure of eight, U-turn etc before Mod 1 but don't want to fail my theory on a poxy hazard perception test when I I've been driving cars for 25 years.
Regards

Hi Stan,
there are practice DVDs and Apps for this (Ipad one is quite good if you have one). None of them will be the exact same questions as the ones in the test but it's a good starting point. The test itself is fairly straight forward: you click when you see a hazard. If you click at the right time you'll get maximum points, if you leave it later you get fewer points. if you leave it too late then you get zero. So, click when you first see it, then to be sure it wasn't too early, click again when the hazard is more obvious.
Clicking too much will fail you the question (and possibly the whole test but not sure on that one). But that's just to combat cheating and constant-clicking.
I found it fairly straight forward, but not very realistic. Don't think too logically about it - treat it as a game. Also remember you are on a bike not in a car. One video came up with a large puddle on the road and I didn't click at all ( ), so got zero points for that question. See what I mean? Don't think to yourself "that's not a hazard, I'll just go around it". Think "hazard, click" ____________________ Current: 2009 SV650 S, 1990 Kawasaki GT550

I thought exactly the same and clicked once per video when I started practicing it, but click as many times as you see a hazard. You can get picked up for clicking too many times but I think you'd have to click a lot and with some pattern for it to flag. I'm pretty sure I was clicking at least 10 times a video. I click when I first see it and also as the hazard progresses.
There's some great apps you can get for smartphones that are good to practice on. ____________________ My Photos
