https://www.amazon.co.uk/Guy-Martin-My-Autobiography/dp/0753555026

Buy it here.

They've also published a bit in MCN today, and surprisingly it's not a bad read (although I find myself reading it in a Lincolnshire accent).

Should certainly be an interesting read. Due out on the 8th May. Thumbs Up

A weird, modern thing this. Bringing out autobiographies when the subject is still quite young.

Remember Rooney had one when he was about 21!.

Think I'll leave it for 20 years or so. Might have a chapter about what it's like to win the TT.

Or not.

Trends, firms are too keen to make a quick buck off them. Infact, that is the new trend. Sad

TT riders can die young though. Thinking

Anyway, good luck to him. I read the bit in MCN - curious to see who Mr X is.

I'm just scared that if I buy it I'm going to be reading it in my head in a northern accent and I'm not very good at accents

The commitment or courage to be a full time racer!
By courage and commitment I don't mean the massive balls to ride round the Mountain course averaging 130mph plus. Obviously that goes without saying.
What I mean is the commitment to give up his truck mechanic job and devote all his time and efforts to racing. At present he's describing himself as an amateur. When he beats the full time pros he's a hero, when he loses he's got the excuse. I think he could win a TT, but he needs the single minded approach that Dunlop, McGuiness and others have. Live, breathe, train as a bike racer, not a lorry mechanic!

When asked on Radio 2 if he had to pick one thing to do for the rest of his life and leave all his other attributes, he said he would pick being a truck mechanic over all of them, he enjoys his work. Bikes are fun, not his absolute passion. His passion is blatantly mechanics and tinkering.
Think I might just buy the book though, top bloke.

Bloke whores himself about the media declaring how he doesn't seek limelight. Clapping

justsaying.

....and spat his dummy once too often.

....and what's with the OTT accent and pretending he's from the Victorian era.

STFU get on yer bike and win a TT Superbike race then I'll STFU.

He was on Chris Evans' show the other morning, they read a passage from it and his front wheel wanting to go under at 140mph at the TT, sounds a good read tbh i might pick it up.

He's all over the road racing supplement of Fast Bikes as well, saying he doesn't care about a TT win.
Really? In the same way he doesn't care for publicity I'd say. He's getting everywhere at present.
