Been looking at these, does the rear view function really work well? I'm aware it should not replace shoulder checks but I like the idea of covering the blind spot directly behind me, assuming I can get one that fits ok.

Given the number of cars that run on stupid headlights now....

Not a good idea. Having them shining at you all the time.

My rear view mirror in the car spends more time in dipped mode than it does normal.

the mirror bit would be ok normally but when doing shoulder checks remember you will also have the view over the other shoulder

and when turning your head the rear view turns as well

not tried it but i think that would make me feel a bit sick

I like the idea I think you'd naturally get used to it after a few hours. The problem will be when people rely on it and don't bother doing lifesavers any more.

Like with bar/fairing mirrors?

Like with a RiderScan?

Your concern is appreciated.

Yes exactly, it's like the spike on the steering wheel principle.

You'll need to join the Scottish section in the outings and excursions bit (just beneath Exchange and Mart), just click on the link and go from there, depends how long it'll take Everready to get back and let you in though.

Anyway what he says in that thread

Oops, sorry I forgot some of you are foreign.

Yup, stuartt bought one on impulse and seems happy with it. We didn't get a detailed review, but perhaps a PM might provoke one.

never used one but not massively keen on the idea, imagine it would be a bit of a distraction, especially when turning your head etc
