Ok quick background, 125 single 4t (cbr125). Left sat for about 2 years.
custom built exhaust ( just because I can kind of weld and its cheaper than aftermarket / replacement. ) El-Cheapo universal air filter, this sort https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-CLAMP-ON-Power-Air-Filter-Off-Set-48mm-MOUTH-DIAMETER-/110847202098?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item19cf021332
contained in modified standard airbox along with quite a few of the electrics ( gotta have some where to shove em right? ).
cant check jetting until I start using it really
Engine got new valves and oil seals which have been lapped in.
New piston and rebore.
Head skimmed ( precaution rather than problem)
New gaskets ( complete set)
New waterpump mech + oil seal
New oil seals dotted around casings.
As i couldnt be bothered to split the casing for a 2nd time, I removed head, barrel side casings, clutch + alternator and used a sandblasting gun filled petrol to degrease all parts ( including inside cases gear box etc)
Then I sat it in a tub of paraffin for 3 days to dissolve any residue left, sand blasting gun was brought out again but this time used paraffin.
All parts where cleaned once more with rags and paraffin before being wiped dry and coated with new engine oil ( as I was rebuilding it)
Its had 3 oil changes before its even left the ramp, warmed up to running temp, dumped, repeated.
I plan on getting more engine oil and when it starts getting used, changing it after 1 week, then a fortnight ( if 1st change is clean ) then religiously every month.
How long will it take until the new piston is bedded in ?
