it seems quite high, but i could be genuine because of the labour on top of it all.
being sat somewhere for so long you right it could need a lot of work. but i should not cost to much more!

Tyres is about 200 quid. A basic service is over 100 quid. Valve clearances are another 100.

The idea of getting a shop do to that kind of basic work on your bike is a bit silly, its mostly all simple DIY stuff, with the exception of valve clearances which probably don't need doing at 15000 miles.

The rough running would probably sort itself in 1000 miles with some varied riding and carb cleaner in the tank.

Sounds reasonable including tyres really...

I'm sorry to say this, but if you baulk at the price that is because they could see you coming a mile off. If you have to ask if you are being ripped off, then something is very wrong. You need to find out about these jobs, what they involve and you should have asked for an assessment first so that you could verify any work that they do.

If they are ripping you off, then it is likely that they will keep finding 'issues' with the bike (especially as they did not sell it to you!) until your bank account is empty.

A word of advice, ask for a quote beforehand, and learn to do some basic stuff yourself, you won't regret it! Thumbs Up

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I wouldn`t be surprised if there was at least £100 worth of parts, a battery will be £40, seat lock at least £25 (probably more), throttle position sensor £????. Plus a lot of labour intensive tasks like valve clearances and carb cleaning/balancing. £600 is high but doesn`t seem excessive.
