Go Big or Go Home is the mantra for this year’s BSMC III Exhibition Event 2014. After enjoying the hospitality of the wonderful Shoreditch Studios venue and team we realised that our third event just wasn’t going to fit the space, so we’ve spent several months looking for a bigger place with as much character, somewhere that would allow us to keep the easy-going, hang-out-all-day, non trade-show vibe.

TOBACCO DOCK
OPENING TIMES: 10am – 6pm Saturday and Sunday
TICKETS: £10 in advance, valid for both days. Pick your advance tickets up at the gate, VIP style!
TICKETS WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE ON THE DOOR ON THE DAY(S)
CLOAKROOM: Free

The new venue is the 200 year old, grade-one listed Tobacco Dock, just two miles south of Shoreditch near Tower Bridge on the North side of the river. The closet tube is Shadwell, but it’s just ten minutes walk from Tower Bridge (Tower Hill & Tower Gateway).

Whether you’re an old school Ace Cafe Rocker on a Triton, an ex-sportbike rider with a modern-retro cafe racer or scrambler, or a cool 20-something doing their own thing with a Shed-built R80 Boxer Brat, this is a show about you and the culture surrounding the scene, but it’s an event for everyone interested in two wheels.

How many moustaches will there be? Can I get a Merlot whilst discussing the custom chops? Is there a farmer's market nearby?

It's not a show where power rangers can discuss how they kick mirrors in when 'cagers' clean their windscreens/brag how fast been round track/which colour tank protector makes your bike go faster, probably be nobody popping wheelies or tailgating either Laughing

Newsflash = Not everybody wants to tear around on a plastic faired bike at a billion miles an hour, some just like bikes and to ride.

My remark was somewhat tongue in cheek. Hence the Razz .

I just think Distinguished Gentleman's Ride and then think I don't own a tweed jacket or handlebar moustache. Nor do I want to behave like an over privileged, spoilt brat, or be associating with such. So this will not be on my radar.

BTW I prefer bikes that you can actually ride and work on the road. For example all those without front mudguards are IMO just a design wet dream.

I really can't wait for the eventual return of destitution to Shoreditch. At least when it was a shithole, you knew you wouldn't be surrounded by a bunch of braying cunts with silly hair and too much money.

I'm looking at that and seeing style over substance / function / everything else. Would probably go if I lived nearby just to stare at the freaks, however I think I'd also be deeply saddened by the ruination of some genuine classics into "works of art".
Each to their own and not really my cup of tea, but best of luck with it all the same.

Style over substance and function? The bikes function as they did when they left the factory? Most are probably faster and lighter/more comfortable than when left the factory too Laughing

Because it's a "New-Wave Cafe Racer"?

This event is (apparently) home of the New-Wave Cafe Racer and Brat Style Creative Custom Culture...

Brat - WTF is that?

Is this place going to be full of Tweedy, moustache toting gents throwing tantrums like 6 year olds because they are jacked up on caffeine and don't want to get their hair cut?

Wonder if the Hipster Bike Videos people will have anything to say about it Laughing

Experimented with no front fender one night, was drinking the first puddle I went over through my damn eyeport and witnessed what looked like a thin vertical stream of piss flying off the top of the front wheel. No rear fender... take the crap stuck to your rear inner fender and apply it to your rear shock/airbox/engine and that's what it'd look like.
