I've stuck out my 33 hp restriction and it's been fine. Really. Yes, I've wanted more power, no I probably wouldn't have been caught, but for me, it wasn't worth risking my licence for.

Today is different. Today I am derestricted. Twisted Evil

I've been out for a little ride today - half expecting to spin up the rear turning out the bottom of my road and high side into a brick wall, half knowing that wouldn't happen. It didn't.

For those few out there still waiting...
4k-5k rpm is pretty much the same as it was restricted.
6k-7k rpm is quicker, but nothing to write home about.
8k+ rpm is a bit of a blur and fucking awesome *. I will be engaging warp drive again. often. Very Happy

*I know the SV isn't the fastest bike on the planet and I will get used to the extra power within a few weeks, but right now, awesome it is.

I must say, through out my 2 year restriction, I never had any of the three bikes I went through restricted. Twisted Evil

My restriction ended almost a year ago, I didn't die once! Smile

Spare a thought for all the poor gits that are going to have to sit their test again just for their 'restriction' period to end....

Was 'lucky' (?) enough I didn't have all that bother - was old enough for DAS, sat ONE test - none of this Mod1/2 rubbish and straight out onto whatever I liked.

Had a GPZ500 for about 6 months before I wanted more - so I can't imagine what 2 years of less than that would have felt like.
