Hi all, I just replaced my piston and barrel after it heat seized on my Peugeot speedfight 2 100cc, So I've mixed some premix to check if the oil pump is working. I'm not too sure how fast it should be putting oil out. I've timed it on idle and 5 drops cam out in a minute, is that too slow or is it safe to ride without premix? thanks

The only way to check it is using the figures given in the manual, if theres one available. It will give a flow rate in cc's per min/or specified interval. with the pump at it's full delivery setting, and at a specified engine speed. Tends to be at around 2000rpm from what I remember from checking other bikes.

If you can't get the info, then you need to check with your Pug dealer to find out. Don't risk riding the bike with the new re-built top end if I have any doubts about the ability of the pump to provide the correct stated amount of oil.

You would probably get away with running the bike as a temporary measure on 40-50:1 pre-mix only , but you need to get the pump checked/confirmed ok as soon as possible for piece of mind.
