Have you tried removing the plug and plug cap and mounting the wire (ht lead) on the top of the plug, then check for spark?

EDIT: if still no luck, you can try trimming the HT Lead back a bit, it might be corroded inside.

Start with the basics. How do you KNOW you don't have a spark?

I'm not being patronising here, but it HAS to be asked.... you have taken the spark plug out of the engine haven't you? And to test for sparks.. you plugged it into the plug gap... and... did you make sure that the body of the plug was earthed properly to the engine or frame?

Personally, I like to put the plug in the jaw of a jump lead crocodile clip, the other end clipped to the battery negative or other known 100% good earth like the swing arm spindle or the engine bolt the battery neg-leads bolted on with....

We get it a lot.... "I got no spark'... then after much head scratching and diagnosis by replacement, discover ACTUALLY, there was nothing wrong with the ignition... volts were just going to t an unearthed spark-plug and unable to leap three foot to the battery from the spark-plug threads after!

Next; Generic Chinky/small bike ignition is generally self exited; runs straight off the magneto, without taking any current from the battery.

If you re kicking the bike over, to check for sparks, it's likely that you wont be getting the motor to turn over fast enough to make a big current to get a beefy spark, and if you are trying to kick and look at the same time, you may never see a damn thing.

So, tip: You get a second person to do the kicking, while you keep your eye on the well earthed plug for sparks.

There should be an earth which runs from battery to frame/engine, find it and double check its clean i.e not rusted up or dirty. might be worth a try
