Hi

My CBR 600 has an intermittent electrical fault, occasionally bogs down to idle whilst the rev counter climbs up and indicates 7k rpm sporadically, no throttle response (poor spark I guess) and sometimes total electrical failure (shorts out but no fuses blown) with no lights on the dash or anything.

Thinking the problem is in the ignition switch area but just wondered if it sounds like its in the area from the switch to the CDI (the sporadic rev indications and poor running would suggest the CDI is not getting enough juice), not familiar with how these bikes so really just checking I'm, not way off with my diagnosis.

Also going to consider running a direct live from the battery to the coils and fuel pump circumventing the loom to see if that has any effect.

The earth is good, even added a second one from the battery to check.
