Hey there, just ordered a new SKF bearing for my engine and notice a tiny bit of side to side play, at first I thought I might have ordered a C3 by mistake but I have not. Just wondered if this was normal?

I suspect this is an unshielded bearing? If so it is sometimes caused by the space for lubrication.

I should have mentioned its a deep groove open bearing. The play is only side to side and very minute, but its still noticeable. Not really too sure what to make of it as I have never had much to do with bearings.

Side to side would be normal, but no play should be present in radial movements
