Hi,

I was cleaning the crud from my front sprocket today and discovered what looks like a crack. I think this is in a plastic part of the sprocket. It felt and sounded like plastic.

The bike is a Sprint ST1050, I have no idea if this is new. It's the first time since getting the bike that I've looked.

You can see a picture here

Any thoughts or knowledge out there that can help?

Should I be worried?

Thanks

Is that actually part of the sprocket? Looks like a cover, or a cap

That's what I was thinking too. Looking in the Haynes manual you can see it in the pictures.

Hi

Rubber bit to smooth out the drive. After market sprocket would be missing it entirely. If it comes off it might cause an issue if it then gets caught in the chain but otherwise not something I would worry about.

All the best

Keith
